Who are we?

We are Merseyside’s LGBT+ football club.

We exist to offer LGBT+ people in Merseyside the opportunity to play football in a supportive and inclusive environment.

  • We run weekly training sessions for players of all abilities - whether you’re a seasoned pro or it’s your first time.

  • We play in national and regional LGBT+ 11-a-side leagues, as well as many friendlies and 5-a-side tournaments throughout the season.

  • We are a community of LGBT+ people (and allies) passionate about sport, and socialising is a key part of the Mersey Marauders experience.

Why We Exist

Football has a deep rooted history of homophobia. Many LGBT+ people have witnessed or experienced abuse first hand, whether in the stands, dressing room or even the school playground. This hostility and lack of representation at an elite level has excluded many LGBT+ people from playing football.

We exist to rectify this, creating a welcoming and inclusive space, free from discrimination, where everyone can enjoy the sport they love.

Join Us

We’re always looking for new LGBT+ players to join the Marauders. Whether you’re keen to get stuck into competitive action or fancy trying out football for the first time, you will be welcome.

We know that joining a new team can be nerve wracking, so we do everything we can to welcome prospective new members and make this process as seamless as possible.
